Million Dollar Pound Cake

 

Ingredients:

1 lb (4 sticks) unsalted butter, softened

3 cups granulated sugar

6 large eggs

4 cups all-purpose flour

¾ cup whole milk

1 tsp almond extract

1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C). Grease and flour a large tube or bundt pan.

In a large bowl, cream butter until light and fluffy (about 3–5 minutes).

Gradually add sugar and beat until well incorporated.

Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Alternate adding flour and milk, starting and ending with flour. Mix just until combined — don’t overmix.

Stir in vanilla and almond extracts.

Pour batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.

Bake for 1 hour and 30 minutes to 1 hour and 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Let cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.

Optional Glaze:

Mix 1 cup powdered sugar with 2–3 tablespoons of milk and a splash of vanilla or almond extract. Drizzle over cooled cake.
