Elegant Crab and Shrimp Stuffed Salmon! π¦π€π (Seafood Delight!)
Ingredients:
β’ 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each), skin on (or off, your preference) π
β’ Salt & freshly ground black pepper, to taste π§πΆοΈ
β’ 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning πΏ
β’ 8 oz lump crab meat, picked over for shells π¦
β’ 8 oz cooked shrimp, peeled, deveined, and chopped π€
β’ ΒΌ cup mayonnaise π₯
β’ 2 tablespoons cream cheese, softened π§
β’ 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard π₯£
β’ 1 teaspoon lemon zest π
β’ 1 clove garlic, minced π§
β’ 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley πΏ
β’ Optional: ΒΌ cup panko breadcrumbs (for a bit of texture) π
β’ Optional: Lemon slices, for garnish π
Instructions:
1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
2. Prepare the Salmon: Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels.1 Season both sides with salt, pepper, and Old Bay seasoning.
3. Make the Seafood Stuffing: In a medium bowl, gently combine the lump crab meat, chopped shrimp, mayonnaise, softened cream cheese, Dijon mustard, lemon zest, minced garlic, and chopped fresh parsley. If using, stir in the panko breadcrumbs. Be careful not to overmix, as you want the crab and shrimp to remain somewhat chunky. Season the stuffing with a little salt and pepper to taste.
4. Stuff the Salmon: There are a couple of ways to stuff the salmon:
o Creating a Pocket: Use a sharp knife to cut a deep slit lengthwise into the thickest part of each salmon fillet, being careful not to cut all the way through. Gently open the pocket and fill it generously with the crab and shrimp mixture.
o Topping the Fillets: Alternatively, you can simply place the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet and mound the crab and shrimp stuffing on top of each fillet.
5. Bake the Salmon: Place the stuffed salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork,2 and the stuffing is hot and lightly golden. The cooking time will depend on the thickness of your salmon fillets.
6. Serve: Carefully transfer the Crab and Shrimp Stuffed Salmon to plates. Garnish with fresh lemon slices, if desired. This elegant dish pairs wonderfully with roasted vegetables, rice pilaf, or a fresh green salad.
