
Ingredients
12 mozzarella string cheese sticks, cut in half
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 eggs
2 tbsp milk
1½ cups breadcrumbs (Italian-style or panko)
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp Italian seasoning
Oil for frying
Optional Dip
Marinara sauce
Or a spicy mayo/cheese dip like in the picture
Instructions
- Freeze the Cheese
Place mozzarella sticks in the freezer for at least 1 hour.
This helps prevent melting while frying. - Prepare Coating Stations
Bowl 1: flour
Bowl 2: whisked eggs + milk
Bowl 3: breadcrumbs + Parmesan + garlic powder + Italian seasoning - Bread the Mozzarella
Dip each stick:
Flour
Egg
Breadcrumb mixture
Repeat egg + breadcrumbs for a thicker crispy coating.
Freeze again for 20–30 minutes. - Fry
Heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
Fry mozzarella sticks for 1–2 minutes until golden brown.
Do not overcrowd the pan.
Drain on paper towels. - Serve
Serve hot with marinara, ranch, or spicy cheese sauce.
Air Fryer Version
Spray lightly with oil
Air fry at 390°F for 6–8 minutes
Flip halfway through
Quick Cheese Dip
Mix together:
½ cup mayo
2 tbsp ketchup
1 tbsp hot sauce
Pinch garlic powder
Perfect with the crispy sticks.
