Instructions
Make the cake
Beat eggs, butter, and sugar.
Add flour and milk gradually.
Fold in baking powder.
Bake at 180°C (350°F) for about 35–40 minutes.
Prepare the filling
Mix condensed milk, yolks, cornstarch, and milk.
Cook over medium heat until thick.
Add vanilla and cool slightly.
Make the caramel
Melt sugar until amber.
Add water carefully.
Stir until smooth. Add cream if desired.
Assemble
Slice cake in half.
Spread creamy filling.
Add top layer.
Pour caramel over the cake.
