Fruit Dessert Rolls
Three delicious takes on dessert egg rolls—crispy, golden, and filled with fruity goodness. Perfect for sharing, snacking, or a fun twist on classic treats.
1. Banana Chocolate Rolls
Ingredients:
2 ripe bananas, sliced
1/2 cup chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
1/3 cup Nutella or peanut butter
6–8 egg roll wrappers
Water (for sealing)
Oil for frying
Melted chocolate (for drizzle)
Instructions:
1. Assemble the Filling:
Spread about 1 teaspoon of Nutella or peanut butter in the center of each wrapper. Add banana slices and a few chocolate chips.
2. Wrap:
Fold the bottom corner over the filling, tuck in the sides, and roll tightly. Seal the top with a dab of water.
3. Cook:
Frying: Heat 1 inch of oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry rolls until golden brown, about 2–3 minutes per side.
Air Fryer: Brush rolls lightly with oil and air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 6–8 minutes, flipping halfway.
4. Serve:
Let cool slightly. Drizzle with melted chocolate or dust with powdered sugar. Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
2. Strawberry Cheesecake Rolls
For the Filling:
1 cup fresh strawberries, diced
1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
2–3 tablespoons powdered sugar (to taste)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
6–8 egg roll wrappers
For the Strawberry Sauce:
1 cup strawberries (fresh or frozen)
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon lemon juice
For Frying:
Vegetable or canola oil
Garnish (Optional):
Powdered sugar
Whipped cream
Extra strawberries
Instructions:
1. Make the Cheesecake Filling:
In a bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Fold in diced strawberries.
2. Assemble the Rolls:
Place a wrapper like a diamond. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of filling into the center. Fold the bottom corner up, tuck in the sides, roll, and seal with water.
3. Fry:
Heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry each roll for 2–3 minutes per side until golden. Drain on paper towels.
4. Make the Strawberry Sauce:
Combine strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice in a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat for 5 minutes until softened. Slightly mash and simmer another 1–2 minutes. Use cornstarch slurry for thicker sauce if desired.
5. Serve:
Drizzle warm sauce over the rolls. Garnish with powdered sugar, whipped cream, and extra berries if desired.
3. Apple Pie Rolls
For the Filling:
2 medium apples, peeled, cored, diced
1 tablespoon butter
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
6–8 egg roll wrappers
Water (for sealing)
Oil for frying
Toppings (Optional):
Caramel sauce
Powdered sugar
Vanilla ice cream
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Filling:
Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Cook for 5–7 minutes until apples are tender. Stir in cornstarch if using. Let filling cool slightly.
2. Assemble the Rolls:
Place about 2 tablespoons of apple mixture in the center of a wrapper. Fold, roll, and seal with water as before.
