🧾 Ingredients
For the cake:
4 large eggs
100 g sugar (½ cup)
1 tsp vanilla extract
100 g flour (¾ cup)
1 tsp baking powder
Pinch of salt
2 tbsp milk
For the filling:
Strawberry jam (or any jam you like)
Powdered sugar (for dusting)
👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Prepare the batter
    Preheat oven to 180°C.
    Line a rectangular baking tray with parchment paper.
    Beat eggs + sugar until light, fluffy, and pale (about 5 minutes).
    Add vanilla and milk.
    Gently fold in flour + baking powder + salt.
  2. Bake
    Pour batter into tray and spread evenly.
    Bake for 10–12 minutes until lightly golden.
  3. Roll while warm
    Place the cake on a clean towel dusted with powdered sugar.
    Carefully peel off parchment paper.
    Roll the cake with the towel and let it cool (this prevents cracking).
  4. Add filling
    Unroll gently.
    Spread jam evenly.
    Roll it back tightly (without towel).
  5. Finish
    Dust with powdered sugar.
    Slice and serve!

    Don’t overbake → keeps cake soft and flexible
    Roll while warm → prevents cracks
    You can use cream, chocolate spread, or fruit filling instead of jam.
