Cake Mix Toffee Bars

Ingredients:

1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 large egg

1 cup toffee bits (such as Heath bits or chopped toffee)

1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk

Directions:

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.

Mix the Dough: In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, melted butter, and egg. Stir until well combined and the dough is thick.

Add Toffee: Fold in the toffee bits (and chocolate chips, if using) until evenly distributed.

Press Into Pan: Press the dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan.

Add Condensed Milk: Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the top of the dough.

Bake: Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and set in the middle. You can check by inserting a toothpick—it should come out mostly clean, with a few crumbs.

Cool and Slice: Let the bars cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice into squares.
