Fried Liver with Onions

Ingredients:
500 g beef or chicken liver (sliced)
2 onions (thinly sliced)
2–3 tbsp oil or butter
2 tbsp flour
Salt and black pepper (to taste)
1 tsp paprika (optional)
1 tbsp lemon juice (optional)
Instructions:
Prepare the liver: Rinse the liver quickly and pat dry. Slice into thin pieces. Lightly coat with flour, salt, pepper, and paprika.
Cook onions: Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan over medium heat. Add onions and cook until soft and golden. Remove and set aside.
Fry liver: Add remaining oil to the pan. Cook liver slices 2–3 minutes per side until browned (don’t overcook or it becomes tough).
Combine: Return onions to the pan and cook together for 1–2 minutes.
Finish: Add lemon juice if you like and serve hot.
Serve with bread, rice, or mashed potatoes.
