crispy potato cheese cutlets or patties — golden brown outside, soft and cheesy inside

📝 Ingredients

  • 3 medium potatoes (boiled and mashed)
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese (shredded)
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh coriander or parsley
  • 1 small green chili (finely chopped, optional)
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder (or 1 clove minced garlic)
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs (for coating)
  • 2–3 tbsp all-purpose flour or corn flour (for dusting)
  • 2–3 tbsp water (for slurry)
  • Oil for shallow frying

🍳 Method

  1. Prepare the potato mix
    • In a mixing bowl, combine mashed potatoes, coriander, chili, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and chili flakes. Mix well until smooth.
  2. Shape the cutlets
    • Take a small portion of the potato mix, flatten it in your palm, place a little shredded mozzarella in the center, then close and shape into oval or round patties.
  3. Coat the patties
    • In one bowl, mix flour and water to make a thin slurry.
    • Dip each patty into the slurry, then roll it in bread crumbs until fully coated.
  4. Fry until golden
    • Heat oil in a pan over medium flame.
    • Shallow fry the patties until both sides are golden brown and crispy.
    • Drain on paper towels.
  5. Serve hot
    • Enjoy with ketchup, mint chutney, or garlic mayo.
