1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
Salt & black pepper (to taste)
2 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)
Juice of 1/2 lemon
For serving:
Toasted garlic bread
Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions:
- Prep seafood: Rinse shrimp and mussels. Set aside.
- Sauté aromatics: Heat butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and cook until soft. Stir in garlic and cook until fragrant (about 1 min).
- Deglaze: Pour in white wine (or broth). Simmer for 2–3 minutes until reduced slightly.
- Cook seafood: Add shrimp and mussels. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and chili flakes. Cover and cook for 4–6 minutes until mussels open and shrimp turn pink. Discard unopened mussels.
- Make it creamy: Reduce heat to low, stir in heavy cream and Parmesan. Simmer gently until sauce thickens.
- Finish: Add lemon juice and fresh parsley. Adjust seasoning.
- Serve: Spoon into bowls, garnish with more parsley, and serve with toasted garlic bread for dipping.
🔥 Pro tip: You can also toss this sauce with pasta for a hearty seafood Alfredo-style dish.
