
Ingredients:
8 slices sourdough bread (or sandwich bread of choice)
1 ripe avocado, sliced
2 medium ripe tomatoes, sliced
8 ounces fresh mozzarella, sliced
2 tablespoons fresh basil leaves (optional)
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
Pinch of salt and black pepper
Directions:
- Spread butter evenly on one side of each bread slice.
- Layer mozzarella, tomato slices, and avocado slices between two pieces of bread, buttered sides facing out. Add fresh basil if using.
- Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place sandwiches in the skillet and cook 3–4 minutes per side until the bread is golden brown and the mozzarella is melted.
- Slice in half and serve warm.
