1 lb (450g) ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 small head green cabbage, chopped
2 carrots, sliced
2 celery stalks, chopped
1 can (14β15 oz) diced tomatoes
1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
4 cups beef broth
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Salt & black pepper to taste
1 tablespoon olive oil
Optional: Β½ cup uncooked rice

Brown the beef
In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef with onion and garlic until browned. Drain excess fat.
Add to slow cooker
Transfer beef mixture to slow cooker.
Add vegetables
Add chopped cabbage, carrots, celery, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and broth.
Season
Add paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
Cook
LOW: 6β7 hours
HIGH: 3β4 hours
If adding rice:
Add uncooked rice during the last 30β40 minutes of cooking.

A splash of Worcestershire sauce
A pinch of red pepper flakes for heat
Fresh parsley before serving
