For the Cake
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1 tbsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
1 cup milk (room temp)
½ cup unsalted butter, melted
2 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
For the Condensed-Milk Glaze
1 can (14 oz / 397g) sweetened condensed milk
2 tbsp butter
¼ cup milk
1 tsp vanilla
Instructions
- Make the Cake
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch round pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla.
- Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
- Pour batter into the pan and bake for 30–40 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool completely before glazing.
- Make the Condensed-Milk Glaze
- Add condensed milk, butter, and milk to a small saucepan.
- Cook on low heat, stirring continuously until slightly thickened (about 5 minutes).
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
- Pour warm glaze generously over the cake, letting it drip down the sides.
Tips for the Perfect Finish
Pour glaze while it’s still warm for smooth drips.
If you want it thicker, cook the glaze a bit longer.
