
4–6 thick slices of bread (French bread or bakery bread works great)
3 tbsp garlic butter (or mix 3 tbsp butter + 1 minced garlic clove + a pinch of salt)
1–2 cups shredded cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, or a mix)
½ tsp dried parsley (optional)
For the Incredible Sauce (double if you love extra!)
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp flour
1 cup milk
½ cup grated cheese (cheddar or parmesan)
½ tsp garlic powder
Salt & pepper to taste
INSTRUCTIONS
- Prepare the Toast
Spread garlic butter generously on each bread slice.
Air fry at 180°C (360°F) for 4–5 minutes or until lightly crisp.
- Make the Sauce
In a pan, melt butter over medium heat.
Add flour and whisk for 1 minute until smooth.
Slowly pour in milk, whisking constantly so no lumps form.
Stir in cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Cook until thick and creamy.
- Assemble
Spoon a generous amount of sauce over each toasted slice.
Top with shredded cheese.
Return to the air fryer and cook for 3–4 minutes until the cheese melts and turns golden.
TIPS
Double the sauce if your family loves extra creaminess — it stores well too!
Add sliced tomatoes, jalapeños, or cooked chicken on top before adding cheese.
Use day-old bread — it crisps better than fresh.
For a stronger flavor, mix mozzarella with sharp cheddar.
Sprinkle a little oregano, chili flakes, or parsley before serving.
