🧀 Cheesy Potato Gratin Recipe

Ingredients:

4 medium potatoes (Yukon Gold or Russet), thinly sliced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup whole milk

2 tbsp butter

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 ½ cups grated cheese (Gruyère, cheddar, or a mix)

½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated

Salt and black pepper, to taste

Fresh chives, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Prep the potatoes

Peel and thinly slice potatoes (use a mandoline for even slices).

  1. Make the creamy sauce

In a saucepan, melt butter. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.

Stir in heavy cream and milk. Season with salt and pepper. Simmer gently for 2–3 minutes.

  1. Assemble the gratin

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

Grease a round baking dish or springform pan.

Layer potato slices evenly, overlapping slightly.

Pour a little cream mixture over the potatoes, then sprinkle with cheeses.

Repeat layers until all potatoes are used, finishing with cream and a thick layer of cheese on top.

  1. Bake

Cover loosely with foil and bake for 40 minutes.

Remove foil and bake another 20–25 minutes, until golden brown and bubbling.

  1. Rest & serve

Let sit for 10 minutes to set.

Garnish with chopped fresh chives before serving.
