
🧀 Cheesy Potato Gratin Recipe
Ingredients:
4 medium potatoes (Yukon Gold or Russet), thinly sliced
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup whole milk
2 tbsp butter
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 ½ cups grated cheese (Gruyère, cheddar, or a mix)
½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Fresh chives, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Prep the potatoes
Peel and thinly slice potatoes (use a mandoline for even slices).
- Make the creamy sauce
In a saucepan, melt butter. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
Stir in heavy cream and milk. Season with salt and pepper. Simmer gently for 2–3 minutes.
- Assemble the gratin
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Grease a round baking dish or springform pan.
Layer potato slices evenly, overlapping slightly.
Pour a little cream mixture over the potatoes, then sprinkle with cheeses.
Repeat layers until all potatoes are used, finishing with cream and a thick layer of cheese on top.
- Bake
Cover loosely with foil and bake for 40 minutes.
Remove foil and bake another 20–25 minutes, until golden brown and bubbling.
- Rest & serve
Let sit for 10 minutes to set.
Garnish with chopped fresh chives before serving.
