
Ingredients
For the Cake:
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
2 large eggs
1/4 cup milk
1 1/2 cups diced apples
For the Crumble:
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup flour
1/4 cup cold butter, cubed
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish.
- In a bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in milk until smooth.
- In another bowl, combine flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and baking powder.
- Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
- Fold in the diced apples.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish.
- Make the crumble: combine brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and cold butter. Cut with a fork until crumbly.
- Sprinkle crumble evenly over the batter.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool slightly before slicing and serving.
