Tater Tot Sausage Breakfast Casserole
Ingredients:
1 lb breakfast sausage
1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
6 large eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
1/4 cup green onions, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Directions:
Cook the Sausage: In a large skillet, cook the breakfast sausage over medium heat until browned and crumbled. Drain excess fat if necessary.
Prepare the Casserole: Preheat your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Spread the tater tots evenly in the bottom of the baking dish.
Make the Egg Mixture: In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using).
Layer the Sausage and Cheese: Add the cooked sausage on top of the tater tots. Then, pour the egg mixture over the sausage and tater tots. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses evenly on top.
Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes, or until the eggs are fully set and the cheese is melted and bubbly. You can check by inserting a toothpick into the center; it should come out clean.
Serve: Garnish with chopped green onions (optional) and serve hot.
