Southern Chocolate Cobbler

Southern Chocolate Cobbler
A decadent, warm chocolate dessert with a gooey center, often called a “chocolate lava cake.”
Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 ½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ cup milk
½ cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup boiling water
¼ cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.
Mix dry ingredients: In a bowl, whisk flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, and salt.
Add wet ingredients: Stir in vanilla, milk, and melted butter until smooth. Pour batter into the prepared dish.
Add the topping: Sprinkle chocolate chips (optional) over the batter. Pour boiling water evenly over the top (don’t stir!).
Bake for 35-40 minutes, until the top is set, but the center is still slightly gooey.
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.#
