Southern BBQ Ribs with Honey Garlic Sauce

Southern BBQ Ribs with Honey Garlic Sauce
Ingredients:
– 2 racks of baby back ribs (about 4 pounds)
– 1 tablespoon olive oil
– Salt and black pepper, to taste
– 1 teaspoon paprika
– 1 teaspoon garlic powder
– 1 teaspoon onion powder
– 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
– 1/2 cup honey
– 1/2 cup soy sauce
– 4 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
– 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
– 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
Directions:
1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
2. Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs and pat them dry with paper towels.
3. Rub the ribs with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper if using.
4. Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Cover the ribs tightly with another piece of foil.
5. Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, until the ribs are tender.
6. While the ribs are baking, prepare the honey garlic sauce. In a saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, apple cider vinegar, and Dijon mustard. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for about 10 minutes until slightly thickened. Stir in ground black pepper.
7. Once the ribs are tender, remove them from the oven and preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
8. Brush the ribs generously with the honey garlic sauce. Grill the ribs for 5-7 minutes per side, or until the sauce caramelizes and they develop beautiful grill marks.
9. Remove from the grill, let rest for a few minutes, then cut into portions and serve with extra sauce on the side.
