Cajun Sausage and Shrimp Pasta
Ingredients
8 oz pasta (penne or linguine)
1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 lb Cajun sausage, sliced
1 bell pepper, diced
1 onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup chicken broth
2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Directions
1. Start by cooking the pasta according to the package directions. Once itβs al dente, drain it and set it aside.
2. In a large skillet over medium heat, toss in the sliced sausage and let it brown up nicely. This builds a great flavor base.
3. Add the diced onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic to the skillet. SautΓ© the veggies until theyβre soft and aromatic.
4. Stir in the shrimp next, and cook just until they turn pinkβthis happens quickly, so keep an eye on them.
5. Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream, then sprinkle with the Cajun seasoning. Let everything simmer gently so the flavors meld.
6. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing everything together until the pasta is well coated with the creamy, spicy sauce.
7. Give it a taste, and season with a bit of salt and pepper as needed.
