German Chocolate Cheesecake Ingredients:
🍫 German Chocolate Cheesecake Recipe
Crust
1½ cups chocolate cookie or Oreo crumbs
¼ cup granulated sugar
6 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C).
Mix crumbs, sugar, and butter until moistened.
Press into bottom of a 9-inch springform pan.
Bake for 10 minutes. Cool.
Cheesecake Filling
3 (8 oz) blocks cream cheese, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
3 large eggs
1 cup sour cream
4 oz melted semisweet or German chocolate (cooled slightly)
Instructions:
Beat cream cheese until smooth.
Add sugar and vanilla. Mix well.
Add eggs one at a time.
Mix in sour cream and melted chocolate.
Pour over crust. Bake in a water bath for 55–65 minutes until set.
Cool, then refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight.
Coconut-Pecan Topping
½ cup evaporated milk
½ cup brown sugar
3 egg yolks
¼ cup unsalted butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
¾ cup sweetened shredded coconut
½ cup chopped pecans
Instructions:
Combine milk, sugar, yolks, and butter in saucepan.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened (8–10 mins).
Remove from heat, stir in vanilla, coconut, and pecans.
Cool completely, then spread on top of chilled cheesecake.
Chocolate Ganache
½ cup heavy cream
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
Heat cream until just boiling.
Pour over chocolate chips and let sit 2 mins.
Stir until smooth. Cool slightly and pour over coconut topping.
Optional Topping
Chopped German chocolate or chocolate chunks for garnish (as shown in the image).
